Rural Development & Health Centre
Foundation made its maiden venture in the year 1977. Founder
Ayesha Aziz had a vision to improve the health status of the
area with an institution based on curative health care.
Starting off with curative health care, Rural Development &
Health Centre Foundation has incorporated preventive aspect
inclusive of Family Planning Programs and Immunization
Program.There is also a Fish Culture Program, Formal and Non
Formal Education program, Water and Sanitation Program and
Credit Program for Landless Women.
The Organization (Project Area) is situated in a remote
village named Pagla under Sunamganj District (Sylhet), about
350 km North East of the capital city of Dhaka. |

To establish a self supporting health
centered development organization of the rural level |

To establish small scale labor
intensive industries (Fish Culture, Poultry, Hand loom,
etc.) and handicraft centre to create employment for the
rural poor, along with the improvement of the
Socio-Economic condition and to raise the social
awareness of the target people |

To provide formal education to the
children of the landless and marginal farmers and
non-formal education to landless fishermen (groups) |

To provide vocational training
facilities for rural people, especially women |

Reopened in June of 2008 with Board
members and local help, the Rural Development Health Centre
Foundation, a nongovernmental voluntary development agency
opened its doors for the upliftment of the rural populace.
Health Service Delivery is a very important component of
this NGO established in 1977 by founder Ayesha Aziz. Housed
in a three story spacious building in a very beautiful
location at Pagla Bazar, south Sunamganj of the Sunamganj
district, the hospital is fitted with equipment and material
resources to cater the health needs of about 200,000 people
residents of South Sunamganj. However 40,000 people of the
neighboring unions are mostly benefited. |
